Our Little Home
We moved into our home about 3 years ago, when we outgrew our cottage following the adoption of our greyhound, Wally. It’s taken some time to get it to how we like it, but overall we’re happy with how its turned out.
I’m definitely a homebody at heart. As much as I like going out for an explore, there’s nothing like coming home to have a nice cup of tea. I wanted the space to be welcoming and cosy but also calm. I tried to furnish our space with mainly a mixture of second hand, vintage and handmade things.

Pink chair with apple cushion by Laura Holden
I have a thing for fruit so I couldn’t resist this apple cushion by Laura Holden. I bought this pink chair a while ago for my old flat, I can’t remember where it’s from but it’s a nice little spot to sit in when chatting to someone in the kitchen.
Our record player corner with lemon art inspired by David Shrigley’s print
Tucked away in the corner of our dining room is our record player. We don’t have many records apart from a few old ABBAs and Beatles records. The record player is handy as it also plays radio, CDs and Bluetooth. There’s a lovely ceramic by Peter Slight sitting on top of one of the speakers that I love.
Our living room featuring Wally
This is probably my favourite spot in the house. The window seat and built in shelves were one of the last things to be completed in our house but its a lovely spot to sit to either read or write. I like to look out over the garden and the veg patch.
I’m a pretty lazy gardener and can’t take credit for anything but the planting veg patch, which mostly involved me haphazardly sowing seeds the hope things will grow. We’ve been lucky to still have rainbow chard from last year, which has kept growing all through the winter.

My little art studio
My little art space is tucked out the side of the house in what was once the garden room. I wanted for it to feel a bit like a cosy witches’ cabin complete with drying herbs, little trinkets and touches of nature here and there. I’m hoping to spend more time in here this year and focus on more personal creative projects.

Our baby will be here by the time that this post is published, but at the time of writing their gender was a complete surprise, so we kept to using greens and mustards mainly as a colour scheme.
I’m so pleased with how the space turned out as it has a lot of personal touches like knitted blankets made by both grandmothers, hand me down toys and art I made specially for them.
I’ve not worked with papier-mâché since I was a child and it was a challenge to make tiny pieces for the mobile out of it. In the end I had to make the tiny Wally figure out of paper clay as he was just too fiddly for papier-mâché.
